Amhara Bank S.C. is currently hiring for the following positions on a permanent basis:

Position 1: Senior Collateral Valuator

  • Qualification: B.Sc. in Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Banking Industry, with at least 2 years in an officer position.

Purpose of the Job: To support effective credit decision making by accurately and fairly valuing properties pledged as collateral.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and review collateral valuation standards and practices.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of properties through physical visits.
  • Perform valuations of buildings and construction works for collateral or foreclosure purposes.
  • Prepare data for technical evaluation.
  • Prepare bill of quantities and specifications for work items.
  • Report project status for collateral properties and project financing.
  • Monitor changes in bylaws that may affect appraised properties.
  • Study location and trends that could impact property value.
  • Handle other related duties as required.

Place of Work: Adama District, Dessie District

Position 2: Senior Finance Analyst

  • Qualification: BA and above in Business Management/Accounting/Economics/Business Administration/Corporate Finance and Investment or related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience, preferably in banking, with at least 2 years in a senior financial analysis position or related business exposure.

Purpose of the Job: To conduct financial modeling, valuations, and analysis in support of upcoming capital market and financial liberalization efforts.

Generic Functions:

  • Act as Manager in their absence.
  • Participate in policy development, budget planning, and procedure implementation.
  • Mentor and enable junior staff.
  • Demonstrate the bank’s code of conduct and uphold its corporate image.
  • Foster teamwork, collaboration, and transparency.
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement.
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability.

Specific Functions:

  • Develop financial models for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions.
  • Analyze complex financial models and make investment recommendations.
  • Perform valuation using various methods (comparable companies, precedents, DCF).
  • Manage financial risk based on market trends and data.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management decision-making.
  • Stay updated on client portfolios, financial trends, and regulations.
  • Handle other related tasks as needed.

Position 3: Human Resource Officer

Qualifications: BA in HRM, Business Administration, Management, or related fields.

Experience: 3 years of relevant banking experience, including 1 year in an officer position.

Purpose of the Job: To recruit and retain qualified individuals in line with the bank’s human capital strategy, policies, and procedures.

Generic Functions:

  • Participate in developing, reviewing, and implementing policies & procedures, budget, and performance reports.
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement.
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability.
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparent work practices.
  • Adhere to internal control system and risk management program.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on plan performance.

Specific Functions:

  • Improve recruiting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Implement a Recruitment Marketing and Employer Branding strategy.
  • Source candidates from talent pools.
  • Screen candidates through resume review and phone interviews.
  • Conduct background checks and due diligence.
  • Prepare and deliver offer letters.
  • Arrange new hire orientation and facilitate integration.
  • Maintain employee records.
  • Assist in Talent Acquisition and Onboarding activities.
  • Handle additional assignments as directed.

Position 4: Head, Internal Control

Qualifications: BA in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, Banking and Insurance Management, or related fields.

Experience: 6 years of relevant banking experience, including 2 years as a senior Internal Control officer.

Purpose of the Job: To ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies, regulations, and maintain the internal control system.

Generic Functions:

  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparent work practices.
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement.
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on plan performance.

Specific Functions:

  • Audit operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform pre-audit and post-audit activities.
  • Check the opening of new accounts and maintain specimen signature cards.
  • Verify loans and advances for adherence to approval decisions.
  • Rectify audit findings and discrepancies.
  • Ensure internal control system effectiveness.

Position 5: Customer Service Executive – II

Qualifications: BA in Accounting & Finance, Banking & Finance, Management, or related fields.

Experience: 1 year of banking operation experience as CSO, CSR, CSE, or similar roles.

Purpose of the Job: To provide excellent customer service, promote the Bank’s image, and cross-sell products and services.

Generic Functions:

  • Build strong relationships with customers.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on plan performance.
  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct and organizational culture.
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement.
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability.
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparent work practices.
  • Follow operational, financial, and security regulations.

Specific Functions:

  • Handle front-line customer service activities.
  • Cross-sell the Bank’s products and services.
  • Receive and process cash transactions.
  • Issue checkbooks, passbooks, and statements.
  • Follow all operational procedures.

Position 6: Customer Service Executive – III/Senior CSO – Cash

Qualifications: BA in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, Banking & Insurance, Marketing, or related fields.

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience as CSO, CSR, or CSE in banking operations.

Purpose of the Job: To manage cash operations, ensure accuracy, and supervise staff at the Branch.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform KYC and customer due diligence.
  • Process cash transactions.
  • Update passbooks and issue customer advice.
  • Issue payment instruments.
  • Perform other required duties.

Position 7: Security Guard – I

Qualification: Grade 10th Complete /12th

Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in Military service.

Age: Between 25 – 50

Purpose of the Job: Ensure safety and security of bank premises, staff, and customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Patrol and secure the area.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Authorize entrance of people and vehicles.
  • Report suspicious behaviors.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Position 8: Messenger & Cleaner – I

Qualification: 10th/12th Grade Complete

Experience: 2 years of relevant experience

Age: Between 18-35

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver documents, materials, and supplies within the company.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform cleaning duties.

Position 9: Branch Manager Grade – I

Qualifications: BA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management or related fields.

Experience: 7 years of relevant experience in the Banking Industry, including 1 year as Assistant Branch Manager/CSM or Relationship Manager.

Purpose of the Job: To achieve sustainable growth and profitability of the Bank through cross-selling products & services, acquiring and retaining customers, improving customer service, and building strong customer relationships. Also responsible for managing overall retail banking operations at the assigned branch.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and revise the branch office’s functional strategy aligned with the Bank’s business level strategy.
  • Plan and lead resource mobilization activities by organizing and coordinating the branch workforce effectively.
  • Conduct regular checks on service delivery through methods like customer surveys to gauge customer perception and experience.
  • Ensure an attractive banking service is delivered and maintained.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities aggressively.
