U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Procurement Specialist (COR) and Engineering Technician (Building Automated Systems – BAS).

Position 1: Procurement Specialist (COR)

Education Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in acquisitions, procurement, contractor oversight or other program management responsibilities of a technical nature that involves performing acquisition-related activities such as performing market research, writing specifications, statements of work or statements of objectives, developing quality assurance surveillance plans, assisting the Contracting Officer as a technical monitor, participating as a subject matter expert on a technical evaluation team and/or performing as a COR or GTM appointed in writing by a Contracting Officer.

Position 2: Engineering Technician (Building Automated Systems – BAS)

Education Requirements:

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years field experience in the operation and maintenance of a building automation system (BAS), including computer and microprocessor control system installation and programming. The experience may have been gained as a result of performing general maintenance on computer-controlled systems and equipment; however, at least two (2) years must have been spent in direct maintenance of BAS specific components in a similar environment in addition to three (3) years of experience with large, modern, commercial or Government office building operations and maintenance.  Experience working with U.S. building, trade, construction, fire, and safety codes and standards is required.

  • The completion of a Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent, in Mechanical, Electrical, General Engineering or Computerized systems, control and sensor technology is required.
