As part of their commitment, Safaricom M-PESA Mobile Financial Services PLC has obtained the Payment Instrument Issuer License from the National Bank of Ethiopia, allowing them to offer mobile financial services under the trademark M-PESA.
In order to provide the necessary regulatory framework for foreign-owned telecom operators to offer Mobile Financial Services (MFS) in Ethiopia, the National Bank of Ethiopia amended the National Payment Systems Proclamation after consultation with industry players in the country.
Soreti International Trading, on behalf of Safaricom Ethiopia, is seeking applicants for the following vacancies in various locations as part of the master agent activity for Safaricom M-PESA mobile money service in Ethiopia:
Job Position 1 – Field M-Pesa (Mobile Money Service) Sales Person
- Required No: 7
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or Accounting from a recognized college or university.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience as a salesperson, with skills in IT applications and usage, customer service, and communication. Exposure to Mobile Money and/or financial/banking services is advantageous.
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa, Adama, Bahir Dar, Hawassa/Shashamane, Jigijiga, Jimma, Dire Dawa

Job Position 2 – Sales Person/Shop Attendant
- Required No: 14
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or Accounting from a recognized college or university.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience as a salesperson, with skills in IT applications and usage, customer service, and communication. Exposure to Mobile Money and/or financial/banking services is advantageous.
