Position 1 : Central Facilitator and Survey Coordinators

Job Description:

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) is seeking competent and interested individuals for the positions of Central Facilitator and Survey Coordinators. EPHI is a national organization mandated to manage, build research capacity, and promote and strengthen public health research activities that will recommend policy and programs in the country. The institute is also mandated to synthesize comprehensive health-related data evidence nationwide that public health-related decision-making relies on. Currently, EPHI, in collaboration with FMOH, is planning to conduct a survey on why adolescent, youth and adult men lag behind in HIV testing service utilization in Ethiopia.

Central Facilitator:

The Central Facilitator will be responsible for handling key assessment tasks such as coordinating and supervising field teams, ensuring the quality of data, conducting data cleaning, interpreting and reporting findings, transcribing audio data, report writing, and conducting direct supervision to field staff at site level.

Survey Coordinators:

The Survey Coordinators will be responsible for planning and coordinating the survey from central, carrying out key survey activities such as coordinating and supervising field teams, ensuring the quality of data, transcribing qualitative data, analyzing and interpreting data, developing survey implementation SOPs, and supervising daily activities at the survey site.

Job Requirements:

  • For Central Facilitator – PhD/MPH/MSc in Public Health or related fields with demonstrated experience in designing and executing qualitative and quantitative studies, analyzing qualitative data, technical report, and manuscript writing.
  • For Survey Coordinators – MPH/MSc in Public Health or related fields with demonstrated experience in designing and executing qualitative and quantitative studies, analyzing qualitative data, technical report, and manuscript writing.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training on the qualitative research method
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting in-depth/key informant interviews and focused group discussions
  • Excellent data organization, programming, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team setting are required
  • Profound knowledge and experience in conducting qualitative surveys, including developing survey tools, training research staff, supervising, and writing analytical reports, as well as interpreting data and making recommendations
  • Experience in the area of HIV program and key/priority population survey, and/or programmatic response
  • Prior experience in coordinating a study using qualitative study design, implementation, and report writing
