position 1 : Woreda Project Coordinator

Organization: Ethiopian Muslims’ Relief and Development Association (EMRDA)

Job Description:

The Woreda Project Coordinator will be responsible for the smooth implementation of projects in Negelle Arsi Woreda, West Arsi Zone, Oromia, Awash Fentale and Ambibara Woredas, Afar.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensure day-to-day follow-up of project implementation in accordance with plans
  • Develop annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly work plans for project activities and oversee their implementation accordingly
  • Develop a proper monitoring plan, including conducting regular visits to project sites to improve project performance
  • Prepare and timely submit monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports to program managers and relevant government offices and stakeholders
  • Liaise between project offices and relevant institutions to improve service delivery to target beneficiaries
  • Work closely with Programs Manager and submit timely information on achievements and constraints encountered, and measures taken to overcome these problems
  • Keep up-to-date reports and records of project activities under his/her responsibility
  • Ensure proper utilization and protection of organization’s property in project offices
  • Ensure proper expenditure and utilization of budget allocated for project under his/her responsibility
  • Participate in different meetings representing the organization

Requirements:

  • Minimum BSC degree in social sciences, psychology, sociology, public health, or diploma with more than 2 years related work experience
  • Experience in NGO working environment will be an asset
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain flexible to changing environments, and make independent decisions
  • Ability to work well within a cross-cultural team
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluency in English, Amharic, and local language (Oromifa or Afarigna) is mandatory
  • Basic Microsoft computer application skills

Job Description

The EMRDA is seeking a Woreda Project Coordinator to oversee the successful implementation of HTPs project in Negelle Arsi woreda. The coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day follow-up of project activities, ensuring they are carried out according to plan. They will also develop work plans for activities, monitor progress, and submit regular reports to the program manager and relevant stakeholders. In addition, the coordinator will liaise between project offices and institutions to improve service delivery to beneficiaries.
