1.Road Freight Specialist

Responsibilities

Owns and maintains Country Road freight Tariffs with carriers on agreed validity.
Review existing pricing rates and policies with carriers and networks to initiate updates and changes based on market trends/current business requirements and maintain strong relationships with them.
Driver best pricing solutions in order to maximize the profitability of Road freight.
Ensure internal local and cross-border rates are input into the rate management system and validate it for Auto costing, quotations and auto rating.
Manage contract with suppliers, establish regular carrier meetings and ensures that these are conducted for all key carriers.
Analyze accepted/rejected quotes lane-wise and negotiate with network and carriers for better rates.
Determine profit margin, and support and follows up with Sales, Sales Support and Customer Service in alignment with Country Road Freight Head.
Source and Provide Spot Rates to Sales, Customer Service for all types of cargo to be moved by road.
Negotiate and procure the best rates in the market.
Combine knowledge of the inland & cross-border transportation (import and export cargo) market with DHL’s unique digital technology (like Saloodo!) strength to drive an exciting part of our business that continues to grow.
Execution of global procurement strategy and decisions (rates, process, etc.).
Monitors carrier/ station performance and initiates corrective actions.
Execute operational shipments for customers allocated from booking from customer to booking with the carrier to billing and updating all operational systems. Takes ownership for file control (Profit, revenue and cost).
Ensure timely billing of shipments on CW1 system executed and system update to ensure the customer has full visibility.
Ensure use of carrier as per defined policy, maximizing profit for the company.
Ensure to provide customers with full shipment visibility and movement as per customs compliance.
Ensure to maintain excellent relationships with other key stakeholders and product teams in DHL ET to manage rate procurement and operations.
Improved department profitability by improving procurement of rates from carriers.

Job Requirement:

Qualification:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in related fields preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, international business, etc.
Must be computer literate. With good user knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
CCO, CCS or CCP Cargo Wise 1 Certifications &/or experience with ERP systems like SAP, and other business systems.
Deep knowledge of Road freight management and related fields in transportation, distribution, fleet management & warehousing operations. A forwarding business exposure from a domestic and cross-border perspective would be a plus.
Excellent analytical, and structuring skills along with Strong project management skills and the ability to cope with multiple bids in parallel.
Results-driven and attention to detail.

Experience:

Min 3 yrs. hands-on experience in Road Freight, Transportation, Logistics &/or similar roles across relevant Supply Chains in road freight pricing, commercials & operations.
Road Transport and Logistics management experience are critical.
Understanding of end-to-end process from freight and customs perspective for domestic (Inland) and international (Cross border) road movements.
The ability to think creatively in terms of routing; knowledge of domestic carrier strengths & weaknesses and port locations.
Customer service oriented.
Strong attention to detail is critical.
Good understanding of in-country and cross boarder transportation standards.
Understanding of end-to-end process from freight and customs perspective for domestic (Inland) and international (Cross border) road movements.
