Position: Technical Adviser, Workforce Development (IHR Strengthening Project)
Location: Addis Ababa

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Graduate qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience (Public Health / Public Administration / Learning / Training and Development).
  • Experience in devising, implementing, and delivering public health learning initiatives within/across organizations.
  • Experience in organizing and managing online training modules.
  • Understanding of complex stakeholder interactions in organizations.
  • Knowledge of CPD systems and commitment to equality of opportunity.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent written and spoken Amharic.

Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject to learning, training, and organizational development.
  • Experience in providing leadership and management training and coaching.
  • Experience in managing projects with multiple partners.

Roles and responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of the public health continuous professional development system in partnership with the National Public Health Training Centre.
  2. Develop proposals for training needs assessment for staff groups within and outside the institute.
  3. Support the delivery of training and development interventions for effective operational delivery, including technical and leadership skills.
  4. Collaborate with the National Public Health Training Centre to progress the training and development agenda within EPHI.
  5. Contribute to the development of a workforce development strategy for EPHI.
  6. Ensure compliance with planning and reporting practices required for the IHR S Project, including project plans, milestones, and evaluation.
