Job Title: Coffee Quality Control Lead

Description: The successful candidate will cover the position of Coffee Quality Control Lead, based in Addis Ababa, to manage the quality control, standardise processes, manage sensory evaluation sessions and green and roast coffee processing with internal and external partners.
He/ she engage under fair chain manager in coffee procurement, logistic, forecasting, sustainability, blending and exporting as well as importing and distribution. Expected to supplies best green and roasted coffee and packaging with their green and roast coffee requirements, with significant strategic growth ambitions for the future.
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
• Manage communication with buyers and Trade teams in Addis Ababa and at destination on all matters related to quality control.
• Manage the communication of feedback to suppliers and internal clients on sensory evaluation of coffee samples.
• Deliver green and roasted coffee based on buyer specification.
• Give special attention and focus to the quality requirements of strategic clients.
• Provide regularly and every batch of physical analysis and sensory evaluation of coffee samples.
• Establish and management of the coffee quality laboratory, including supervision of
sample management.
• Prepare and distribute cupping reports to the relevant team members and clients.
• Manage the quality process during roasting and rovide technical leadership to buyers and support their career development.
• Perform other related assignments as directed by the fair chain manager
Job Requirements
Education
• Relevant degree in Horticulture, Agronomy or agriculture and related
• Cupper or Qgrader
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of relevant practical work experience and technical skills: Team management skills, analytically strong (problem solving
• Extensive coffee cupping experience is essential.
• Experience within a multi-national environment is highly beneficial but not required.
• Demonstrable experience of process improvement work.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in English
• Comfortable with setting goals and managing teams.
