Position 1: Food Assistance Information and Reporting Officer


Location: Tigray Region, Tigray

Salary: Paid in Ethiopian Birr on the prevailing monthly exchange rate as per the National Bank of Ethiopia on the 20th of the month

Job Description:
World Vision Ethiopia is seeking a Food Assistance Information and Reporting Officer to oversee the field-based information management and reporting systems for the food resource program, including the WFP Nutrition & GFD project. The role involves providing coaching and technical support to the commodity distribution team during field registrations and distributions, as well as assisting in the consolidation and generation of CTS reports at the field level.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the commodity distribution team during field registrations/distributions.
  • Consolidate and generate CTS reports at the field level.
  • Deliver system maintenance and regular reporting to various stakeholders on information and reporting issues.
  • Upload mandatory food assistance reports in the Disaster Grants Database on a timely basis for management review and approval.
  • Compile monthly commodity reports from the field using standardized reporting formats and share them with the HO coordinator to produce major reports.
  • Upload and share project documents and monthly commodity reports of WFP Nutrition and General Food Distribution (GFD) such as CSR, RSR, LSR, and CSS reports.
  • Ensure compliance with World Vision Partnership and donor requirements for commodity losses and claims procedures.
  • Safeguard data collected in field operations for WFP projects by ensuring backups of field data collection.
  • Maintain an organized and accessible food assistance information management system according to the country’s retention policy.
  • Implement training on forms and systems for field staff to ensure adherence to WV’s standards in Food Delivery Management and Reporting and adequate Information Management systems coverage.

Job Requirements:

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of experience in food aid/assistance programs, disaster mitigation, and development-related fields, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a food assistance/food aid information management and reporting coordination position.
  • Education: MA/MSc or BA/BSc Degree in Food Science, Agric. Econ, Disaster Management, Rural Development, or related fields.
  • Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of Emergency Food resource management, experience in food assistance programming, grants/project management, market assessment and analysis, cash transfer programming, performance management, project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing. Good understanding of humanitarian standards and knowledge of the local context. Experience working with INGOs is desirable. Ability to work in high-tension and high-security risk situations. Ability to contribute to team-building environments.

Position 2: Commodity Accountant/Stock Controller

Job Description:
World Vision Ethiopia is seeking two Commodity Accountants/Stock Controllers to join the team. The main responsibilities will include maintaining a clear accounting and documentation process for each shipment, monitoring and reconciling the physical inventory of secondary warehouses, preparing monthly Commodity Status Reports (CSR), Recipient Status Reports (RSR), and Loss Status Reports (LSR), and collaborating closely with field monitors and stock keepers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clear accounting and documentation process for each shipment.
  • Monitor and reconcile the physical inventory of all secondary warehouses under supervision for monthly reconciliation.
  • Prepare the monthly Commodity Status Reports (CSR), Recipient Status Reports (RSR), and Loss Status Reports (LSR).
  • Collaborate closely with field monitors and stockkeepers.
  • Collect receipts and issue summaries and verify the physical inventory of all warehouses.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or related fields.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 1-year previous experience in a related position as a Commodity Stock controller/accountant/Data clerk.
  • Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications: Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long periods in difficult terrain and demanding conditions. Computer literacy is an added advantage.
