Job Description:
KAKI PLC, an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU in Ethiopia, is actively involved in various business lines such as import, export, metal fabrication, after-sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company is seeking a qualified professional to join them as a Workshop Manager.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, organize, and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Workshop Section.
- Control the quality of repairs and maintenance to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Implement safety and health standards while maintaining company policies and procedures.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage service workshop repair and maintenance activities aligned with the business plan of the After-sales Business Unit.
- Ensure that workshop repair and maintenance activities adhere to operational policies, procedures, and Isuzu standards.
- Ensure availability of all necessary resources such as parts, materials, and labor for scheduled repair and maintenance works.
- Organize the workshop service facility according to Isuzu standards, aiming for cost efficiency.
- Focus on ensuring continuous customer satisfaction with the services provided.
- Supervise all workshop activities, particularly technical issues affecting service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Forecast and order spare parts for repair, maintenance activities, or stock replenishment.
- Monitor progress of each repair and maintenance job, providing necessary direction to expedite any delays.
- Assess and evaluate performance of the service workshop, taking measures to improve facility efficiency and effectiveness.
- Set performance targets for the repair/maintenance workshop and body shop, ensuring their implementation.
- Monitor and record the time taken to complete each job order in the repair system.
- Implement 5S and other health, safety, and environmental standards within the service workshop.
- Maintain upkeep and proper maintenance of the service workshop facility.
- Manage the workshop facility to create a conducive and business-like work environment for employees and customers.
- Conduct periodic employee performance appraisals, taking appropriate action based on evaluations.
- Prepare workshop performance reports for submission to the Aftersales Business Unit Director.
Job Requirements:
- Required Number: 1 (One)
- Qualification: Diploma or BSc in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
- Work Experience: 10 years for Diploma holders, and 8 years for BSc graduates, in a relevant role
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of vehicle parts, services, and customer orientation
- Proficiency in computer skills and excellent written and oral communication
- Problem analysis and solving abilities
- Good skills in computer applications
