Job Description
The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) seeks a Communication Assistant to play a central role within the Communications team for day-to-day communication activities. This is a six-month maternity cover position based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The ideal candidate should possess organizational skills, a proactive attitude, understanding of communications-related activities, strong verbal and written communication skills, experience in providing team support, and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support including complex calendar management, event planning, and logistics such as assisting in procurement processes and acquiring office equipment/supplies
- Compile and process expense reports, reimbursements, and check requests
- Develop a contact database for partners, donors, and media, keep it up to date
- Take minutes at Communications team meetings and archive all meeting notes
- Support Communications Officers and Senior Graphic Designer & Web Specialist to maintain the ATI website and ATI Hub
- Track project timelines and develop a plan to meet deadlines
- Manage the ATI and Communications team email accounts
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- BA Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related fields.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in corporate communication in a dynamic organization (international organization preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in English and Amharic
