Logistic and Admin Officer Job at Islamic Relief

Islamic Relief, an international relief and development charity operating in Ethiopia since 2004, is seeking to hire a Logistic and Admin Officer for its Abala, Afar Regional State location. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, handling employee grievances, managing staff benefits, managing stock control, warehousing, transportation, and ensuring structures are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materials. The position reports to the Project Manager and is expected to last seven months.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage personnel activities with the technical advice of the HR Coordinator.
  • Prepare staff annual leave plan and maintain records of staff benefits.
  • Coordinate utilization of vehicles, create routes, supervise drivers, and monitor proper utilization of respective budget.
  • Ensure sound supply chain and avail means of transport for any request and warehouse space.
  • Supervise reception and switchboard staff, and provide work processing.
  • Monitor and control vehicles to maximize efficiency in usage of fuel and regular maintenance costs.
  • Support for the supervision and monitoring of all field office stores, rented warehouses, and stock movement activities.
  • Produce periodic monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as well as other reports on HR matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Supply Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • 4 years of relevant work experience in related positions, preferably in INGO/NGO settings.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent judgement and interpersonal skills.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to humanitarian principles and action.
  • Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
