The Canadian Embassy in Ethiopia is seeking competent and experienced individuals for the following job.

Position: Common Services Officer 

Education:  

  • Bachelor degree from a recognized university, with a major related to business administration, finance, or human resources.   

Language: 

  • Advanced level in English (oral and writing)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial/budget administration (e.g. accounting operations, tracking with a financial system/database, extracting, forecasting, analyzing trends, interpreting financial data, producing reports, forecasting and budget management)

Under the direction of the Management and Consular Officer, the Common Services Officer manages logistical execution of program objectives and goals, including but not limited to, budget management, human resources administration, contracting administration, and the management of information and documentation regarding the services in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and procedures.  

The incumbent directly plans, administers, and monitors the Embassy’s budgets, coordinates human resources functions, undertakes contracting, as well as conducts research and analysis to advise Management on local issued and policy matters.  

The incumbent will provide and create non-routine information and/or documentation; provide complex administrative support and services; provide services to a diverse client base and initiate proactive collaboration; supervise staff, as necessary; and perform other duties as required.

Salary: 933,713 ETB annually 

Location: Addis Ababa
